Our Best Moment....

My 5 cents Worth

Heya dudes of the SSC... well guess I'll put in something before I get loaned out to maple land. Really glad to see how something could be started out of really nothing. Alot of talk but little action in the past saw this great potential never really take off. This really shows that we all have what it takes to do something... to change something, to start, pioneer and grow something. And how fun is it if that something is what everyone likes doing and good for health too. Kudos to Pui and Bas for putting up with so much err admin and PR challenges. I believe given a few more weeks, things will stabilize and alot more exciting things are going to be done.

I would encourage all the SSC peeps to have a vision cast for this ministry (if its going to be one) and well I am sure very soon you will see the fruits of it. The connection with new people, pre- believers and even people who live for soccer... the time has come to stand for all we believe in! God has given KY an outlet to reach out and well after the many hours of praying, singing , altar calling...God has actually give us an opening to be his shining stars. So i urge you bros to keep this up and also to give this SSC a direction. To align intention and desire! :) And when that happens... i believe God will do mighty things through something as simple as this.

Also during the MWS tournament, it occured to me that we were many body parts, the same body and the same head. Each with a different job to do, and no one part can say to the other that he is more important. So yup reinforces that each and everyone IS important no matter what role you play in church or the SSC. So haha yeah thanks to everyone who made the saturday workouts enjoyable... keep it up :) So till i see you all on Saturday again...

PS: It would be awesome if core groups or "cell groups" that are dedicated to pray during power hour after the practices could be formed. Hehe :P .

MWS Soccer Tournament Pictures!

hey guys... just some of the photos that i got off hand from sharon. hope to get more and upload them soon... for those who are overseas or didn't play, we got 2nd in this tournament and it was a achievement compared to our past endevours. this is the first time we got to the final of this competition and we lost to Foo Chow Methodist in the finals. they have been the champions for the last few years and hopefully one day we can match up to them.

we got thru the group stage with 11 points from 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 lost. we were second in the group stage. we met aldersgate methodist in the quarter-finals and we beat them in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 normal time game. in the semi-finals, we were drawn to play with paya lebar methodist church that beat us in the group stage. we beat them 2-0 in normal time to set up a final with Foo Chow methodist church. in the final, we held Foo Chow to a 0-0 normal time draw and went to penalty. we missed our first 2 penalties and they scored their first and third penalty to win the finals.

some hype up before our first game...

mr ong on a running spree...

Overall, i guess we did pretty decent and played some nice football. hopefully, each and everyone of us can continue to play and improve more as we play.
